Districts in our service area: We are offering Youth Mental Health First Aid on Sept. 18 in our Johnston Regional Education Center.

Participants will become certified Youth Mental Health First Aiders. Through the Youth Mental Health First Aid (www.MentalHealthFirstAid.org) curriculum, participants will learn about the prevalence of various mental health disorders impacting youth, and how to recognize the warning signs or mental health problems that my impact a youth’s mental health and resiliency. They will learn how to utilize a five-step (ALGEE) plan to support youth and help youth in crisis connect with appropriate evidence-based treatment. In addition to becoming certified, participants will become more familiar with their YMHFA manuals, practice the ALGEE plan using case studies, identify appropriate school interventions/supports, and research community resources. Registration includes a YMHFA Manual.
