Helen V. Kelley Webster Coughenour, 94, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 of congestive heart failure at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday, February 2nd at Iles Westover Chapel. A Graveside service will be 11 am Saturday, February 3rd at Masonic Cemetery.
Helen was born December 26, 1923 on the family farm in Lucas County, Iowa to Fred N. and Frankie (Rineheimer) Kelley. She graduated from Osceola High School in 1941. Helen and her first husband, William E. Webster, were the parents of one daughter, Mary Alice. Helen later married Donald Coughenour, who embraced her family as his own.
Helen was active in the management of the Webster Funeral Home in Osceola. Most importantly she enjoyed being a homemaker, mother and grandma.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Alice (Troy) King of Urbandale; grandchildren: Brent (Christine) King of Urbandale, Brett (Crystal) King of Des Moines, Jaclyn King of Des Moines; great grandchildren: Wyatt and Alexandra King, Andrew and Cassie Peacock, Kaleb King, and Tycin Gordon; great great grandchild, Owen Peacock; nephew, Mike Kelley of Osceola; nieces: Michele Zavagoza of Wautauga, TX, Melanie Smith of Louisville, KY; step children: Alan Coughenour, Ann Pearson, Amy Coughenour of Illinois; and daughter, Kelly Morris, and her children Michael and Danny. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, step mother, Charlotte; husband; brother, Jerry Kelly and his wife Eva.
