A North Liberty teenager’s wish has come true thanks to Make-A-Wish Iowa and Trusted Choice Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa.
Kaeden Sickler is a 15-year-old with cystic fibrosis, said Casady Christiansen, marketing and communications manager at Make-A-Wish Iowa.
“Kaeden wished to go to Ireland to see where his favorite show was filmed,” Christiansen told the Johnston Times. “He was thrilled when he heard his wish was to be granted in August of 2018.”
Kaeden was surprised by his family, wish granters, and Trusted Choice at a wish reveal party about a month prior to his trip to Ireland.
Working as a team, Trusted Choice and Make-A-Wish sponsored the trip to Ireland to make sure that Kaeden, along with his brother and parents, would have a great time as they toured areas of Ireland where his favorite show was filmed.
“Kaeden was excited to see all the locations of his favorite show,” Christiansen said.
Trusted Choice sponsored Kaeden’s wish to go to Ireland as one of many wishes the company hopes to make happen through a $300,000 sponsorship that will “help state associations throughout the country grant more wishes,” according to Make-A-Wish Iowa.
“We are proud to help them grant wishes and look forward to helping to enrich these children’s experience with hope, strength and joy,” said Robert Rusbuldt, Trusted Choice president and Big “I” president and CEO.
Make-A-Wish Iowa creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, the foundation said. More than 3,500 wishes have been granted to children with critical illnesses since 1987, and the foundation currently grants a wish every other day in Iowa.
"Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses,” said Chris Voggesser, president of Make-A-Wish Iowa. "We are privileged to continue partnering with Trusted Choice to sponsor wishes throughout the state of Iowa. Together, we can transform lives, one wish at a time."
